Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited visitor information handled by Albany Residents Directory and the choices available to you. The site is an Oregon reference to public records and historic collections. It does not require an account or maintain a government record about visitors.

Information You Submit

Text entered into a search form, such as a name, phone number, or address, is sent to the third-party provider that powers the results. We do not retain a separate copy of those searches. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message and use it to respond.

Automatic Technical Data

Like most hosted services, the site may receive routine server-log information, including IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. We use aggregated information for site operation and audience measurement. Cookies or similar tools may support ordinary analytics or advertising measurement.

How Information Is Used

Limited data is used to run, secure, repair, and measure the service. We do not sell a visitor list or create a personal profile of readers from site use.

External Services

Links lead to county, City, state, court, library, archive, and third-party search services. Their own privacy notices govern information provided after leaving Albany Residents Directory. That includes any provider operating sponsored search results.

Service Providers and Disclosures

Hosting, analytics, and operational providers may process the technical data described above for us. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise only as needed to operate the service.

Security and Retention

The site uses an encrypted connection. Logs are kept only for as long as the operational purposes described here require. Because Albany Residents Directory has no visitor accounts, it does not maintain a user password or account profile.

Visitors Under 18

The service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has sent information so that it can be addressed.

Oregon Privacy Choices

Depending on the circumstances, Oregon Consumer Privacy Act provisions in ORS 646A.570–646A.589 may provide rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing by covered controllers. Because we retain little visitor information, a request will usually concern a contact message or routine log data. Use the Contact page to submit it. Requests to remove a government-held deed, voter record, court file, or archival item must go to that record’s custodian, not to this private reference site.

Policy Changes

Any material revision will be posted here. Continued use after the posting date indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
